A search of the archives for Christmas-related items for an upcoming General Library display unearthed this little gem from the All Blacks `Invincibles’ tour.
Sent as a Christmas card by Native Land Court judge Frank O.V. Acheson to his daughter Monica in 1924, the “Cousin Leslie Cupples” referred to in the inscription was a loose forward on the team.
The All Blacks were dubbed `the Invincibles’ after they won all 32 matches of their tour of France, the United Kingdom and Canada.
