Over the coming few months the Fine Arts Library will be highlighting a selection of serial titles held in the Library’s collection. While a large proportion of our serials are now online, a number of magazines, and newspapers relating to art history and the fine arts remain accessible in hardcopy only. These include significant historical titles, contemporary art journals, niche or short lived publications and the majority of New Zealand serial titles.
We have chosen Du as our first title in this Spotlight on Serials series.

The Fine Art Library holds a set of Du the Swiss arts and culture magazine running from 1941 to 1987. This German language journal covers a broad spectrum of subjects including the visual arts, photography, architecture, design, literature and film, making it an interesting cultural and academic source for students of history and art history. The emphasis placed on high quality printing and image reproduction helps to make Du an eclectic image resource especially for those interested in photography and publication design.
