Drain is a peer reviewed, online contemporary art journal seeking to promote lively and well-informed debate around theory and praxis. Each issue of Drain explores a specific concept. Past issues have explored concepts such as cold, psychogeography, lost in translation and desire.
The current issue looks at the concept of rewind in contemporary art and culture.
Drain aims to connect the conceptual framework of each issue to themes such as globalization, gender, ethnicity, sexuality, capitalism and new technologies, as well as ethical and aesthetic concerns. Dr Gregory Minissale, one of the journal's editors, currently lectures in contemporary art and theory at the Art History Department at the University of Auckland.
Drain is freely available online and will soon be available via the Library’s E-Journals list.
