BEFORE AFTER

BEFORE AFTER: Let's Build a Better Canterbury is an exhibition and discussion series at the Christchurch Art Gallery that runs until the 20th March 2011.

Initated by local architects in response to the widespread damage caused by the 4th September earthquake, the exhibition is intended to engage the public and to think about the city and region and the opportunities for improvement in the built environment. Seeing the residents of the city as the "client", it wants to work with the public in identifying opportunities to create a better and more liveable region, a new "brief" for Canterbury.

The exhibition is structured into five key facets: environmental planning, urban design, heritage and character, residential and transport and infrastructure and there are displays and panel discussion sessions around each facet.

If you won't be in Christchurch during the exhibition's run you can visit the website and explore the exhibition digitally and join the discussion.
