New Subject Librarian for Law

You may have seen our new Law Subject Librarian Tracey Thomas around the Davis Law Library.

In her own words:

I have recently returned to Auckland after nearly two years working at the Victoria University of Wellington Law Library as a Subject Librarian. I have really enjoyed the wide variety of scholarly legal research queries, especially with the Honours and Postgraduate students. Previously, I worked for ten years in two of the main corporate law libraries in Auckland as a Research Librarian where I helped law graduates and summer clerks adjust to the challenges of corporate legal research. The legal research work was very exciting and involved a wide range of legal and business related topics, as well as helping litigation teams prepare for court.
Before law libraries, I began my library career with eight years at Auckland City Libraries starting in the Commerce, Science and Technology team. While at Auckland City Libraries, I was also the International Documents Librarian, specialising in managing the European Union and United Nations collections and the Law collection. Many years ago, I graduated with a Bachelor of Management Studies degree from Waikato University, then studied the Graduate Diploma of Library and Information Science at Victoria University. I am currently studying towards a Bachelor of Laws degree at the University of Auckland.
I look forward to meeting you all and providing help with your legal research queries.
