The Times Law Reports Online

Want to hear about the last public gibbeting? Or better yet, what is gibbeting in the first place? Want the gory details of Penguin books defending Lady Chatterly's Lover? Or hear about a bit of cannibalism in R v Dudley and Stephens?

All these cases can now be accessed via the The Times Law Reports Archive. The cases date from 1785 - 1985 and appear  as they were orginally published in the Times newspaper. The archive also contains historic newspaper articles.

For more information and to access the archive, go here. Alternatively, visit the archive at http://archive.timesonline.co.uk/tol/archive/.

It's good that they are providing free access, at least "for a limited period of time". When the free trial period is over, you can still use the Library database Times Digital Archive
