We hate to sound like your mother-in-law, but leaving your laptop on your desk while you have a leisurely coffee break is not a good idea. Stuff gets stolen on a regular basis so please, don't leave laptops, music players, or your purse/wallet lying around for others to take.
Also to remind you that food and drink are not permitted in the Davis Library. We know it's nice to have a coffee while you're studying but you need to stay in the café or go outside to have this. After all, don't you need to have a break? It's much better for your back!
