Mixed Ownership Model Bill introduced into Parliament

The Government has introduced the Mixed Ownership Model Bill into Parliament. This bill proposes the privatisation of some Government held shares in energy companies and includes safeguards; including that the Crown should retain 51% of the voting rights in each of the companies, and that other entities are to be restricted to holding no more than 10% of the voting rights. This bill is very topical at the moment with discussion of the need for clauses that protect the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi. Clause 16 of the bill includes a Treaty provision that is based on the wording in Section 9 of the State Owned Enterprises Act 1986. The bill is expected to pass the First Reading vote in Parliament and be sent to a Select Committee. During the Select Committee consultation there will be an opportunity for the public to make submissions.

So example :

2011 Law and Information Technology was LAW438

2012 Law and Information Technology is now LAWCOMM426

For papers 2011 and prior you need to search for LAW438 as below;Library Readings & Exams
