Ford's new driving technologies

 “Ford Develops ‘Traffic Jam Assist’ and New Parking Technology to Help Address Future Mobility Challenges. Ford develops intelligent, next-generation driving technologies as part of its “Blueprint for Mobility,” the company’s strategy to address future mobility challenges as cities and roadways become more crowded around the world. Ford is developing Traffic Jam Assist, an intelligent driving feature that employs technology from features already available in Ford cars including Active Park Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Aid, and Ford Powershift transmission, to automatically keep pace with other vehicles and provide automated steering control to stay in the current lane. The system is designed to reduce driver stress and fatigue, and potentially improve vehicle flow. Forthcoming Ford vehicles will evolve the current Active Park Assist system, Ford’s technology that enables parallel parking without touching the steering wheel, to offer hands-free perpendicular parking in addition.
