Catherine Deneuve stars in director Francois Ozone’s ultra-stylised comedy that is "as light and soft as a pink satin pillow" (Jenkins, 2011). The film tells the tale of the titular trophy wife being inspired by the revolutionary spirit of the seventies and her activist son to break free from her domineering and uncaring husband. A delight from start to finish with a healthy dose of satirical bite.

While perhaps better known for her continued plastic surgery and coverage of red carpet events for E! Entertainment, Joan Rivers was, and still is, a hugely successful and committed comedienne with a venomous wit and edgy stand-up routines, forcing audiences into hysterics for over half a century.
A Piece of Work is an uncompromising documentary going behind the curtains and into the mind of Joan Rivers creating a portrait that is "neither flattering nor unsympathetic" (Gonsalves, 2010).
