25,000 pages of new content in Underground and Independent Comics

Underground and Independent Comics, Comix, and Graphic Novels has 25,000 pages of new content.

Some highlights:

  • The complete run of Dan Clowes seminal series Eightball (23 issues).  The story ‘Ghost World’ was originally published in serial form in issues 11-18, and is probably his best known work, as it was later turned into a movie by Terry Zwigoff and starring Scarlett Johanson in her big-screen debut.   But if you really want to see something good, read issue 23, the Death Ray issue. http://comx.alexanderstreet.com/View/914026
  • 60 more issues of The Comics Journal, which greatly increases the number of hits you'll get on almost any search. Remember comics are cross-referenced with stories about comics, so when you look at a series entity page, such as Cerebus, you can quickly jump to all the secondary stories about Cerebus in various issues of The Comics Journal by clicking on the Installments About link. http://comx.alexanderstreet.com/Search/entitytype/installment/comicseriessubjectid/794848
  • Important and hard-to-find undergrounds from the 60s and 70s, such as Gothic Blimp Works, First Kingdom, Junkwaffel, Mickey Rat, and others.
  • Two great Canadian series from the 80s, Reid Fleming: World's Toughest Milkman and Ultra Klutz.

There is lots of other great stuff.  See the What's New page for a complete list.
