The Library is trialling the Ethnographic Video Online database until 8 April 2010. This is a searchable video collection designed as a resource for the study of human culture and behaviour. The collection includes many of the classic titles in the discipline, such as:
It provides study guides alongside many of the titles and also includes filmmaker biographies, interviews and release notes. Geographic and cultural group browses allow users to highlight sections of a map to find result sets, and searchable transcripts scroll with the films.
The initial release includes over 200 titles, and the database will continue to grow over the next year and on completion the collection will contain more than 1,000 films.
