The New Zealand Dept. of Internal Affairs has created an online directory of publicly available New Zealand government datasets. The directory, data.govt.nz, links to datasets on government agency websites. Data.govt.nz, available at http://data.govt.nz/ can be browsed by title, agency, date listed, and format; or searched with a single search box. Search results can be subscribed to as RSS feeds.
For each dataset the directory record provides URL, Agency, data format, re-use right, description, keywords and date the dataset was listed.
The directory is in pilot mode until June 2010, when it will be reviewed. Throughout the pilot new features will be added and refinements made. User feedback is being sought by the website designers. A Discussion Forum shows feedback posted to the site.
Members of the public can suggest datasets be added to the directory using the 'Add Dataset' tab.
