During Māori Expo 2009, Te Tumu Herenga o Te Whare Wānanga o Tāmaki Makaurau (University of Auckland Library) participated with other Faculties and services in promoting courses and career opportunities at the University stall. Te Āo Kohatu students (Māori Studies course) provided an extra draw card to visit the stall and take interest in what we were offering.
Library staff were able to move amongst the thousands of eager secondary, tertiary students and staff as well as parents and tamariki, asking questions for the quiz. The questions consisted of:
- What is the name of a Māori God
- Who was the first Māori woman
- What is the Māori name for land
- What is a Pacific word for land
- How do you say hello in Māori
- Name a Māori author
- Name a Māori movie director
- Name a Māori actor/actress
