The YouTube news and politics blog CitizenTube chronicles the ways people are using YouTube to bring about change. People are posting videos on YouTube to draw attention to their cause, to inspire others to participate in campaigns, and to allow people and organisations sharing a cause to make connections.
Two groups taking advantage of the social networking site are Witness a non profit group concerned with human rights abuses, and InvisiblePeople.tv an American organisation drawing attention to homelessness in the United States.
YouTube has also created a platform calling for volunteer video makers willing to contribute their expertise to non profit organisations that cannot afford to make their own videos. This platform is called Video Volunteers and uses the Google All for Good platform. (All for Good is a United States platform created in a Google, White House partnership, linking volunteers with their local communities.)
