University of the South Pacific Theses

University of the South Pacific theses are now online. The digital collection includes theses from USP, and also from 20 other universities which have produced theses about Pacific topics.

University of the South Pacific theses collection

The USP Library has been working on this project for several years, and it was launched in October 2008. There are currently around about 100 Masters and PhDs from the 1970s to the present, and the collection will continue to grow. The original print collection has over 1500 theses going back to 1934, so there is scope for far more material to be digitised.

The thesis database uses the Greenstone freeware program. It enables you to browse author, title, and subject lists. There is a fairly basic search engine, but it does search across the entire text of the theses, not just the abstracts that you see on the screen.

You can view the abstracts online, or download the entire thesis as a PDF document.

Congratulations to Ela Qica and the team at USP Library for developing this great resource!

The University of Auckland thesis collection in ResearchSpace continues to grow, and we also have a guide to finding theses from other parts of the world.
