The National Library has added a selection of historical photographs from the Alexander Turnbull Library illustrating life in New Zealand between 1880 to 1930.

Through The Commons a selection of treasures from the National Library's archive will be be visible to the world. The National Library is the first New Zealand institution to join The Commons and the 6th among a list of international museums, galleries and libraries including : The Library of Congress, Brooklyn Museum, Powerhouse Museum Collection, Smithsonian Institution, George Easteman House, Australian War Memorial Collection, Bibliothèque de Toulouse, Musée McCord Museum.
