The second edition of the International Social Sciences Encyclopedia is available online in Gale Virtual Reference Library. The encyclopedia is edited by William A Darity, and published by Macmillan in 2008.
The 2nd edition highlights the expanding influence of economics in social science research. Topics include censorship, income distribution, electoral systems, interest groups, foreign aid (political and economic aspects), food (world problems, consumption patterns), comparative health-care systems, and nongovernmental organisations (NGOs).
The new 2nd edition also features biographical profiles of the major contributors to the study of the social sciences, past and present.
