The International Society of Biblical Literature represents the largest international scholarly membership organization in the field of biblical studies. There are currently more than 8500 members, comprising teachers, students, religious leaders and individuals from all walks of life who share a mutual interest in the critical investigation of the Bible. The Society's International Conference for 2008 will be held in Auckland from the 6th to the 11th of July, 2008. It will be hosted by the Society of Biblical Literature and the University of Auckland's School of Theology. There will be a related display in the General Library in July.
