Rewi Alley's diaries and notebooks on microfilm

A wealth of primary sources can be found in the Library's microfilm collections. The latest addition is The Papers of Rewi Alley (1897-1988) from the National Library of New Zealand. A detailed list of the contents is available on the publisher's website. It includes diaries, letters, notebooks of his life and travels in China from the 1930s to the 1980s, and published and unpublished articles that he wrote. There is an extensive list of books by or about Rewi Alley in Voyager.

The microfilms are part of the series China Through Western Eyes: Manuscript Records of Traders, Travellers, Missionaries and Diplomats, 1792-1942. We also have from that series Correspondence and Papers of Sir Ernest Satow (1843-1929) Relating to China from Public Record Office Class PRO 30/33

These are all available for use in the Microtexts Room on Level G in the General Library.
