National Library Research Fellow chosen

Historian Redmer Yska has been named National Library Research Fellow for 2008.

Yska will use the fellowship to write a social and institutional history of New Zealand Truth newspaper, a disreputable but always vivid fixture of the local media scene.

Nineteenth Century British Library Newspapers

19th Century British Library Newspapers is an online collection of 48 newspapers. This collection features London national newspapers, English regional newspapers, home country newspapers from Scotland, Wales and North Ireland, and titles in specialist areas such as Victorian radicalism and Chartism.

Mass Observation Online

From the 1930s to the 1970s the lives and attitudes of ordinary British people were recorded by Mass Observation. Mass Observation Online is now available with digitised file reports and other primary and secondary source material.
